- Phones and charging cables (extra long 2meters)
- Important documents in a folder (Red Book if Swiss, other citizenship documents needed for other nationalities)
- Copy of birth preferences/plan in a folder
- Hypnobirthing parent folder and ultimate birth relaxation audio
- Affirmations, photos, special scarves or pillows to aid in relaxation and visualization
- Battery operated tea lights, comfort items to make the room cozy
- Moms toiletries and favourite products (now is not the time to bring the cheap stuff!)
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste for mom and dad
Comfortable pyjamas which have easy breastfeeding access 2-3 pairs
- Nursing bras (2-4, wire free at this point)
- Warm socks and slippers
- A magazine or two, or an e-reader with light reading
- Hair bands, lip balm, hairbrush
- Day clothes/loungewear for mom, with comfortable nursing access, made from breathable, natural fabrics
- A change of clothes for dad
- Take home outfit for baby, any special items for first photos
- Snacks for mom and dad for during and after labour, if for mom, make sure they are easy to digest
- Shower shoes
- Gift for older sibling
Of course, this is just my list, what I think is important. I am curious what you might think I have missed or overlooked!
